ultra sound and cinco de mayo

what a day yesterday turned out to be. i went to the hoag medical center in HB, located on beach blvd yesterday afternoon for the follow-up ultrasound (US). the tech said i have one clot in the thigh of my left leg. she started with my right leg, and then switched over to the left. i told her that during my original US in Austin the tech found a clot in my calf and had said that's where it may have originated. she said there was nothing there, so that's awesome. she checked my pelvis area too, and could tell that i had a full bladder. she said so you need to pee huh? and i was surprised thinkin' she could read my mind too. i said, yeah i do.. so dont push down too much around there, i'm trying my best to hold it. she said the upper thigh was the only place with a remaining clot. so that's awesome. also, the doc here thinks i'll be off the coumadin in about 3 more months. i'm pretty thankful this is going faster than i thought it would. 

on my way to my appt yesterday, this guy who replied to my craigslist ad for our dolly texted me that he was available during the afternoon to see the dolly. i toted the dolly to the car and lugged it in the back seat hoping to be able to get rid of it that afternoon after the appt. i called this fella when i was done at Hoag, and he came and met me in the parking lot next door. he brought up the (512) area code, and the pointed out my texas plates still on the car, so i explained how i got here from austin just a little over a month ago. right away he asked if i'd gotten plugged into the community here in hb, or if i have friends here. i told him about xavi and i church hunting -- hoping to meet some cool people through the church community. turns out this guy is in ministry, and was very informational when i told him the kind of church we were looking for. he recommended this one called RockHarbor (http://www.rockharbor.org). so i think we'll give that a go on sunday. he and his wife moved here a few years ago, and he told me how his wife got involved with a CBS group. i may check out a CBS group in my area when i get back from austin at the enda the month. i'm not too picky right now. 

anyway, today he texted that he wanted to give this girl my # to get in contact w/ me to hang out. i said i was cool w/ that. starlas and ryans are one of a kinds..and the hardest to find.. it's all about timing. so i'm just along for the ride right now... hopin' to meet some cool ppl over the months ahead.. 

when i got back from meeting with the dolly guy, whose name is barry. i went to thank the neighbor for the cake she brought us monday. i got invited to go have a cinco de mayo drink down the road at a spot called mario's. they said mario's has the best mexican food in hb, but we didn't have any of mario's food, we just drank his ritas. which were really good too. but i really should have had something to eat first. i hadn't eaten anything since before i left for the appt. the rest of the day involved me eating slices of french bread, trying to get off the floor and watching episodes of how i met your mother and 24. 

phew. well its late and my coffee fix is wearing off finally. time for bed!
