my INR test went real well. my result was 2.0 which is good. not too high, not too low. i was impressed with my new doc and staff.. his name is George Semeniuk, and he's pro active in finding out why i developed this clot along with monitoring me while i'm on the blood thinner. i answered the regular questioning about my health history. he told me about some possible causes for developing the blood clot and assured me that they were going to find the core cause of it. the doctors i saw in austin just monitored my coumadin results, but never talked about trying to find the source of it all. so i'm liking this new doc already. its great that they want to know the source, and where i should go from here and down the road. if the estrogen based birth control was the cause of all this though, he said i'll not be allowed to take those again, and i'll have to find an alternative.
i go in tomorrow for the ultra sound, and then i return next week for an appointment with Dr. Semeniuk again and we'll go over the blood test results and the ultra sound. he did mention a few possible causes, but i dont remember the terminology well enough to pass along accurate information. something about developing a mutant gene that creates blood clots.. but just the word mutant sounded strange to me, and i dont even know how to google it cos that's all i remember, "mutant gene". i'm looking forward to the ultra sound - to where the clot is now, and if it's lessened any.
i'm off to work on my projects now.
love,
kiki
