its real good to be back in austin.. i'm really gonna miss this city.
i have much to do before we leave to cali. and many people to see before then too. xavi and i are going to have a going away party at the end of the month, so save the date peeps. we're thinking sat. the 28th, around 7pm-ish. i'm calling around some different restaurants for info on reserving some space.. south by should be over by then.

the trip to cali went well - it was successful for the reason i went, that being to find an apartment, and work out the move out date with xavi's current landlady, iliana. i'd been so hesitant about move out dates with her since i learned about my dvt, and was thrilled when she agreed to honor our original agreement (handing over the keys on 3/17). it's perfect because now the rents won't overlap too much. our new place is on a street called ferhnill.. it's clean, quiet, and within our budget.. i kinda knew that was the place we'd be renting if everything worked out with iliana. it backs up to a golf course, its in a non-smoking complex which is nice, and everything inside looked clean and/or new.. and the other place i saw was just gross.. they really should open some windows and try to air that place out.. smells like a cat shat in the cupboards.

jackie, our new landlady, gave me the keys a few hours before catching my flight back to austin thursday. we'll load up the penske truck april 2nd and hit the road early early april 3rd. :( goodbye beautiful austin... we'll be back in sept for ACL.

it's already weird to see the walls of our condo bare and the rooms full of boxes. knowing that we're not moving to another spot in town, but out of town. you know when you have that feeling that you gotta do something or you'll regret it down the road? that's me and california. i guess after rejecting it for a year and a half, and then hating it at the beginning of last week, i now am wondering what's there. what's cool places might be hiding behind all those shiny sport utility vehicles, gucci sunglasses, and concrete shopping centers that turn me off so.. and well, it's just right for two married people to live in the same place.

i had my INR test yesterday, and tested really low.
